In August of 1950, Irvin Maag, Pharmacist, along with his wife Genevieve, ESTABLISHED Maag Prescription Center. Irvin had been part owner of Cook Drug (located in the building we are now located in) and also a salesman for Parke-Davis Drug Company. When the store first opened at 352 W. Center, there were only the two employees, Irvin and Genevieve, and they covered all aspects of the pharmacy business, which included prescriptions, medical supplies and equipment.
In January of 1977, Irvin Maag retired and turned over the business to his son Greg and his wife Kathy. Greg had been working as a registered pharmacist since graduating from the University of Wyoming in 1971. In Greg & Kathy’s second week of ownership, the building that Maag Prescription Center was located in burned down. Being the strong willed people they are, the Maag family rebuilt Maag Prescription Center across the street at its current location 333 W. Center. Since that date, Greg and Kathy Maag, owners, changed the name from Maag Prescription Center to Maag Prescription & Medical Supply, and added many employees and services along the way.
Currently, Maag Prescription & Medical Supply employs over 25 people, and has a very reputable name in communities throughout Southeast Idaho. Maag Prescription & Medical Supply covers all aspects of healthcare with a full service Pharmacy, Prescription Compounding, Home I.V. Services, Medical Equipment, Home Oxygen and First & and Safety products. Maag also provides Pharmacy, Respiratory, and Medical Equipment consultations. The pride that the employees take in caring for the customer and their caring nature continues the philosophy of the Maag Family that started over 55 years ago. For that philosophy alone, the business continues to grow with the help of all our fantastic employees & wonderful customers.
